Silvano Fortunato Dal Sasso is Postdoc researcher in the Department of the European and Mediterranean Cultures: Architecture, Environment, Cultural Heritages (DiCEM) of University of Basilicata and member the Hydrological LABoratory for Numerical Modelling and Advanced Environmental Monitoring (HydroLAB) research group. He graduated in Environment and Territory Engineering at Basilicata University in 2008 and got the Ph.D. in Methods and Technologies for Environmental Monitoring in
2012. Since 2008, He has taken part in several research projects between the University and both public and private bodies in the field of Hydraulic Risk and Hydrogeology. From 2012, He collaborates with Consortium for Hydrology (CINID) and, from 2018, with Fondazione Politecnico di Milano (FPM) on Hydrogeological susceptibility and Flood Forecasting System of the Civil Protection of the Basilicata Region (Italy). He has a broad interest in in hydrology, hydraulics, flood prediction, extreme flood events, monitoring using Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs). The main research activity is currently addressed to the use of UAS, satellite data and noncontact techniques for environmental monitoring.

Alonso is a postdoctoral researcher working on fluvial monitoring and modelling using UASs. He has a broad interest in hydrology, hydraulics, sediment transport, flood prediction, extreme flood events, stochastic processes, environmental monitoring, and remote sensing applications for fluvial monitoring. He has recently adopted open science practices (data, code, and analyses available).
